Interior painting cost in New Hampshire

What interior painting costs in New Hampshire, with ranges from the Atlas estimator for walls and ceilings, and what preparation is included.

Every number on this page comes from the Atlas Instant Ballpark, the same estimator you can use for your own home. These are example houses to show how the price behaves. They are not quotes, and your written estimate after a site visit is the number that counts.

Example ranges

Example scopeAtlas ballpark range
About 1,200 sq ft of walls, two coats$1,000 to $1,900
About 2,000 sq ft of walls plus 600 sq ft of ceilings$2,000 to $3,500

This is a ballpark, not a quote. It is not adjusted to your site until someone from Atlas sees it; final pricing comes after a site visit and a written estimate.

What changes the price

  • Wall area. Painting is priced by the square foot of wall.
  • Ceilings. Ceilings add area and are harder to paint well.
  • Preparation. Washing, patching and spot-priming are included.
  • Age of the house. Homes built before 1978 need lead-safe practices when old paint is disturbed.

Trim, doors and windows, wallpaper removal and larger plaster repairs are priced separately.

Getting an accurate number

List the rooms you want painted, whether ceilings are included and roughly how high the ceilings are. Note the trim, doors and windows you want done, since they are priced separately from walls. Point out cracks, water stains and patched areas: stains need a stain-blocking primer or they bleed through new paint. In a house built before 1978, sanding or scraping old paint follows lead-safe rules.

Painting an occupied home or a rental

We plan the rooms in an order that lets you keep living in the house, and we clean up anything that would disrupt day-to-day living as we go. For landlords, painting is often part of a unit turn along with repairs and flooring.
