How an Atlas home is built
- Plywood wall and roof sheathing. We do not use OSB on high-performance builds.
- Vycor enV-S fully adhered air and water barrier over the sheathing.
- Continuous TimberBoard wood-fiber insulation outside the framing, which keeps the sheathing warm and the assembly vapor-open.
- A ventilated rainscreen behind the siding and a vented over-roof.
- Balanced ventilation (ERV or HRV) and right-sized heat pump heating and cooling.
- Blower-door testing to confirm airtightness.
Why it matters
Moisture trapped in cold sheathing is one of the most common reasons newer houses rot, grow mold or need early repairs. A warm, vapor-open wall greatly lowers that risk, and a tight, well-ventilated house is more comfortable and healthier to live in.

Common questions
Why no OSB?
Plywood tolerates wetting and drying better than OSB and holds fasteners well, which matters in a wall designed to last generations.
