Drywall and Ceiling Repair in New Hampshire
A water stain or sagging patch of ceiling usually means the drywall behind it is damaged. We cut out the damaged section, replace it with mold-resistant board, finish it smooth, seal it with stain-blocking primer and repaint the whole surface so the repair does not show.

How we repair water-damaged drywall
- Cut out the damaged drywall back to sound board
- Replace it with mold-resistant board, taped, coated and sanded smooth
- Seal with a stain-blocking primer so the water mark cannot bleed through
- Repaint the whole ceiling or wall, not just the patch
Fix the leak first
A drywall repair only lasts if the water has stopped. If the leak has not been found or fixed, we price the repair after a site visit, because the cause decides the fix. Finding and fixing the leak itself is not part of a drywall repair.
Mold
Atlas does not test, sample or assess for mold; a third-party certified assessor does. If we open a ceiling or wall and find what looks like mold, we stop and tell you. Mold remediation is not part of a drywall repair. See mold cleanup and repair.
What is not included
Insulation and framing repairs above the ceiling, and textured or popcorn ceilings, are priced separately. On homes built before 1978, we follow EPA RRP lead-safe practices when cutting into painted surfaces.
For landlords
Drywall repairs after a leak in a rental unit are part of our rental repairs work.

Common questions
Why repaint the whole ceiling?
Fresh paint never matches old paint exactly, so a painted patch shows as a lighter or darker square. Repainting the whole surface makes the repair disappear.
Can you match a textured ceiling?
Textured and popcorn ceilings are priced after a site visit. In homes built before about 1980, popcorn texture can contain asbestos and has to be tested before it is disturbed.
