Oil-based hardwood floor staining in Nashua, New Hampshire

Flooring we install

  • Hardwood sanding, staining and refinishing, including oil-based staining like this Nashua job
  • Vinyl plank (LVP) for kitchens, baths, basements and rentals
  • Laminate flooring
  • Underlayment, transitions and new baseboard trim

Fixing what is underneath

Squeaks, soft spots and uneven floors usually come from the subfloor or framing. We open it up, repair the structure and give the new floor a flat, solid base.

Comparing bids? Check for these

Lower bids often leave these out. Every Atlas estimate includes them.

  • A 6-mil moisture barrier on concrete slabs
  • Quarter round and transitions, not left for you to finish

Common questions

Can vinyl plank go on a concrete basement floor?

Yes, in most basements. We put a moisture barrier down on the slab first and check for high spots and dips, because plank floors need a flat base to lock together properly.

Is it better to refinish my hardwood or replace it?

If the boards are solid and thick enough to sand, refinishing is usually the better value and keeps the original floor. Deep damage, water-stained boards or a floor that has already been sanded many times can point to replacement. We will tell you which after we see it.

Why do my floors squeak or feel soft?

Usually the subfloor has loosened from the joists, or the subfloor or framing has been damaged by water. We fix that before the new floor goes down, so the problem does not come back under the new finish.

Can I get a price before anyone visits?

Yes. The Instant Ballpark gives a range for vinyl plank flooring. The final price comes after a site visit and a written estimate.
