Siding & Exterior Insulation Retrofits in New Hampshire
Re-siding is the best chance an existing house gets to add continuous insulation and an air barrier on the outside, without touching the interior. We make sure that chance is not wasted.

What a retrofit can include
- Removal of old siding and inspection of the sheathing and framing
- Repairs to damaged sheathing and framing
- A fully adhered air and water barrier
- Continuous TimberBoard wood-fiber exterior insulation
- A ventilated rainscreen, new trim details and window flashing
- New siding
Why the order matters
Insulation added on the outside keeps the existing sheathing warmer and drier. Getting the window flashing, the rainscreen gap and the trim depths right is what keeps the new wall dry, so we plan those details before the old siding comes off.

Comparing bids? Check for these
Lower bids often leave these out. Every Atlas estimate includes them.
- Tear-off and disposal of the old siding, not siding over it
- New house wrap, taped at the seams
- Lead-safe (EPA RRP) setup, containment and cleanup on homes built before 1978
Common questions
Will my windows need to move?
Thicker walls change the window depth. We plan window extensions or new flashing details as part of the design.
Can you work on older farmhouses?
Yes. Older houses benefit the most, and we account for uneven framing and lead-safe work practices.
