What we do
- Clean and treat mold-affected framing and surfaces
- Remove and replace damaged drywall, insulation, sheathing and framing
- Find and fix the moisture source, such as a leak or a path that lets moist air reach a cold surface
- Rebuild and finish the area
The moisture fix comes first
Mold grows where materials stay wet. Cleaning without fixing the water or moisture behind it rarely holds up, so our repair includes the cause, not only the visible damage. If the cause is not obvious, a building science assessment looks at where the moisture is coming from. It is not a mold test.
Older homes
In homes and rentals built before 1978, repair work that disturbs painted surfaces still follows EPA lead-safe (RRP) work practices.
What we do not do
- Mold testing, sampling or air testing
- Mold assessments, inspections or remediation protocols
- Clearance or post-cleanup testing
Common questions
Do you test for mold?
No. Atlas does not test, sample or assess for mold. Testing and assessment are done by an independent, third-party certified mold assessor that you hire.
Do you fix what caused the mold?
Yes. Finding and fixing the moisture source is part of the repair, so the problem is less likely to come back.
What happens to materials that are too damaged to keep?
We remove them and replace them, whether that is drywall, insulation, sheathing or framing, then rebuild and finish the area.
