Interior Painting in New Hampshire

A good paint job is mostly preparation. Atlas moves and covers your furniture, washes and patches the walls, spot-primes the repairs and then applies two full coats, so the finish looks even and lasts.

What an Atlas paint job includes

  • Moving and covering furniture, and protecting floors
  • Washing walls where needed so the paint bonds
  • Patching nail holes, dents and small cracks, then sanding smooth
  • Spot-priming every patch so it does not show through
  • Two coats on the walls, cut in neatly at the ceiling and trim
  • Cleanup at the end of each day in an occupied home

Ceilings, trim and doors

Ceilings can be included in the ballpark. Trim, doors and windows are priced separately, because the prep and the paint are different from walls. Wallpaper removal and larger plaster repairs are also priced separately, after we see them.

Older homes and lead paint

On homes built before 1978, sanding or scraping old paint can release lead dust. We follow EPA RRP lead-safe practices whenever painted surfaces are disturbed: containment, careful prep, cleanup and a cleaning check at the end. See lead-safe renovation.

Painting rental units

Landlords use us to repaint units between tenants, often together with flooring and small repairs. See rental unit turns.

Stains that keep coming back

A water stain on a ceiling will bleed through ordinary paint. We seal it with a stain-blocking primer first, but if the leak is still active the stain will return. If the drywall is damaged, see drywall repair.

Common questions

Do I need to empty the rooms?

No. We move furniture to the middle of the room and cover it. Please take down pictures and anything fragile beforehand.

How many coats do you apply?

Two coats on walls, with every patch spot-primed first.

Do you paint exteriors?

Most of our exterior work is siding replacement and aluminum-wrapped trim, which ends the repainting cycle. Ask about your house when you call.
