Raymond is a Rockingham County town on the Lamprey River. It was first settled from Exeter as part of Chester, in an area known as Freetown, and was incorporated in 1764. The main village sits along the river near Route 27, part of Pawtuckaway State Park lies in the north of town, and the old rail line is now a rail trail, with the former depot used by the historical society.
